Y-NOT was built in 1994 by the yard "Constructions Industrielles et Maritimes" at Rochefort in France.   She is a Bruce Farr design and is a good example of French workmanship, combining both comfort and exciting sailing in a performance yacht.

Below, she has a spacious saloon/dining area, with TV, video and HI-FI facilities.   Her three cabins are all ensuite and comprise of one queen size bed in the owner's stateroom forward, and twin beds in the two guest cabins.    These beds convert to queen size beds.

Outside, her well-laid out deck area and separate guest cockpit are ideal for enjoying the sun and sea. The transom folds down to provide a convenient bathing platform with a deck shower, so that both swimming and boarding the tender are quite easy. 


A new, large, stable bimini added in 2008 extends the area shaded for guest comfort.

Captain Jackson McHorney's love of the sea comes naturally. A true "son of a son of a sailor," he is the son and grandson of Chesapeake Bay sea captains. A former junior high school teacher turned full-time sailor, his 60,000 sea miles have included seeking out adventures in the sunny Caribbean, exploring the historic Spanish Main, and sailing up the exotic Rio Dulce in Guatemala. His visits to the Mediterranean have provided seaside adventures including meeting the rich and famous in St. Tropez, discovering archaeological treasures and ruins in Turkey and traipsing through the marketplaces of Casablanca, Morocco. Jackson has extensive knowledge of the eastern US seaboard, having ventured along his native coasts for the past 25 years. During his 20 years of chartering, Jackson has shared his love of the sea, knowledge of history and culture and enthusiasm for water sports with his guests. He especially enjoys teaching water skiing and sailing and introducing his guests to the breathtaking world beneath the water.

Captain Jackson returns to Y Not after 5 years on motor and larger sailing yachts. he loves Y Not and the feels she is the perfect size for just the right level of guest comfort and convenience!

Dave Hickmott And Ilsa Bancroft

The First Mate of YNOT is extremely experienced, with a Master 200 tons license and many thousands of sea miles under his belt. As he sails the yacht past palm islands and coral reefs, he’ll be pleased to share his expertise. Captain Dave is also a PADI Divemaster, and with his photographer’s eye he’s great at spotting the unusual underwater. Being a cockney from London, England, Captain Dave loves to tell a good story. From judo to windsurfing, hang gliding and parachuting, he’s got some great tales. Try one of Dave’s infamous cocktails while deciding which ones to believe!

Your Chef and Stewardess Ilsa is an experienced sailor as well as a gourmet chef. With English, Dutch and Canadian passports, Ilsa was born to travel. This passion is demonstrated in her cooking, which reflects an authenticity of regional differences. For Ilsa, travel also includes exploring the world beneath the seas and she is an experienced PADI Instructor. She loves the unique history and culture of each port visited and enjoys being both your guide and hostess in tropical paradise!
